A new home for the Red Bulls.
The 149,735 sq ft National Guard Readiness Center Complex, a Division Headquarters Building, as part of the greater Arden Hills Army Training Site (AHATS) serves as the new home for the 34th Infantry Division, known as the Red Bulls. Supporting significant growth in personnel, equipment and technology, the new facility provides necessary administrative, training, secure work and storage areas. The building was designed to be flexible to accommodate low weekday use and extensive weekend occupancy for drill activities, including training exercises, equipment distribution and large scale food service.
The project had blast-resistant specifications to support the unique on-site training, making precast concrete an ideal solution. Wells provided the prefabricated external facade and interior structural support with double tees and structural wall panels. The newly constructed building has prefabricated external façades and interior structural support with double tees and structural wall panels. The exterior insulated architectural panels showcase a unique mix of acid etch and form liners to enhance the building appearance.
